Billy has been passionate about wildlife and wild places for as long as he can remember. He moved to Kenya when he was six years old, and immediately fell in love with the African continent and its natural heritage. Now, through his photography he attempts to capture the beauty of its unique wildlife.
Alongside his photography, Billy is building a career in nature conservation. Having spent two incredible years working to conserve the large mammals of remotest south-eastern Tanzania, Billy is now based in the UK. The 'day job' is with BirdLife International – the world’s largest nature conservation partnership. He directly supports national NGOs in over twenty biodiversity-rich countries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, helping them develop and grow their conservation programmes. He has traveled to some extraordinary countries in the course of his work.
Increasingly, Billy is trying to integrate his photography with his conservation work, and now attempts to document the inspirational stories and conservation heroes that he meets through his work at BirdLife. He hopes to use his photography to help raise awareness of the threats and challenges facing the natural world.
